Euro lock snapping is a threat to your home security - it needs no skill and simple

tools. By fitting the correct standard of locks you can protect your family and

possessions from this threat to house entry

There are videos on YouTube that show step-by-step how to pick various locks in the traditional way (the lock pick kits are available on Ebay); Other YouTube videos show in detail how to

bump (typically 10 seconds) and snap (about 50 seconds).

The thing that is really concerning is that this information and the tools are out there in the public domain; AND the snapping and dumping requires very little skill to gain entry quickly with minimal noise.

The solution is to install good quality anti-snap, anti-bump and anti-pick locks.

A demonstration of how anti-snap locks work is provided here.

Asking for anti-”everything!" when buying new locks is not very useful and leaves us exposed to the sales hype that accompany these things. But now there is an answer - you simply need to have either:

    a) Euro locks to standard TS007 3 star, or

    b) Euro locks to standard TS007 1 star combined with anti-snap door furniture to TS007 2 star

So ideally a total of 3 stars are required on each door.

TS007 Euro locks are normally marked near the key entry with 1 or 3 stars as appropriate. This is your anti-”everything" assurance.

Make sure you ask for the TS007 standard whenever you buy new locks or doors, and expect to pay a premium for these locks. If your supplier is confused, or tries to talk you into something else then it is simple - “find another supplier”.

You should also review your existing euro locks by calling out a good & recommended locksmith who can advise and fit upgrades. A competent DIY'er can also upgrade euro locks to the TS007 standard.
