These issues crop-up periodically in relation to planning applications. The neighbours often start with the firm belief they have identified the silver-bullet that will stop an unwanted neighbouring development dead in its tracks.  In reality there are ways to assess these matters and it is a complex subject.


Please be aware that I am far from being an expert in this area. The following is made available as an introduction to the topic and I welcome any corrections or clarifications by those that know more than me.
